Folk festival in Berlin ahead of the European Championship premiere was suddenly brought to a halt.
Fanzone, an area where thousands of supporters had gathered to watch the match, was partially evacuated just hours before kick-off. According to German police, a suspected item was found, which led to the evacuation.
The exclusion zone was reportedly 200 metres in size, and the organiser was forced to close three of the four entrances. Bomb-sniffing dogs were called in, and a man was arrested in connection with the incident.
Later, it was possible to breathe a sigh of relief when the police announced that it was not a bomb and that the situation was under control.
About 18.30, roughly two and a half hours before kick-off, supporters were able to return to their places and get ready for the match.
The European Championship premiere is being played at the Allianz Arena in Munich and kick-off is at 21.00.
