Fans stormed the pitch and the match was abandoned

The pitch invasion occurred in the 22nd minute as a violent protest against Nantes being allowed to leave the top league.

Nantes coach Vahid Halilhodzic tried unsuccessfully to confront the home fans and persuade them to leave the pitch.

The hooligans threw pyrotechnics while players from both teams fled towards the locker rooms. The police had to clear the field and drive away the troublemakers.

It is unclear whether the match will be resumed.
