This weekend, the Swedish women's league resumes with a match on Saturday and another on Monday, before all teams play the following weekend.
First up are Hammarby and Norrköping. The Stockholm team's Fanny Peterson is looking forward to more women's league football after nine appearances during the spring season.
Everyone is really excited and I am really excited. I love playing football and of course want to play as much as possible, but a lot is in my own hands. It's important for me to perform in training, it's tough competition, says Peterson.
Believe in gold
Hammarby is second in the women's league, two points behind Häcken.
There were a lot of good players leaving and people were a little worried. But I really think we have stood by what Hammarby stands for and continue to build on that.
Peterson believes in the team's ability to take home the gold.
"I have complete faith in us. But we have to take it game by game and go for three points all the time and not relax," says Peterson.
Played in the European Championship
In the shadow of the men's World Cup, Sweden's U19 team has been playing championship football. The Swedish F19 team was in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and after two wins and one loss in the group stage, the semi-final against Spain awaited. The future champions proved too difficult and Sweden fell 0–3.
"Spain had a lot of aces up their sleeves. They were spinning and rotating, it was very difficult," says Peterson.
She still looks back on this summer's European Championship in a mainly positive way.
Getting to do it with F19 was very special. It's a really lovely group that is very welcoming.
You eat the same food for two weeks, but you have to live with that. Then it was so hot, so you wouldn't want to be outside. Sometimes you got really bored.
“Doesn't have an end level”
Being selected for the U19 team at the age of 16 is big.
It's crazy. It was a big step. I was really happy.
Peterson hopes for bigger things in the future.
I really want to measure myself at the highest levels, I don't see myself as having an ultimate level. But I also know what it takes. I want to go out into the world and show myself.
Recently, Häcken's Felicia Schröder joined Real Madrid for a record fee.
I want to be the best football player I can be, so I won't think about money. And it's so fucking cool to see teams starting to invest in the women's side.
