Sweden had just lost 0-1 to Spain in the Nations League return, and the players were walking around to thank the supporters. Then a boy ran out from the stands and onto the grass. I got really shocked, says national team defender Anna Sandberg to Aftonbladet.

The boy did not get to the players before the security personnel intervened. Lars From, the national team's security officer, downplays the incident.

He probably wanted to get a picture. We took care of him and handed him over to the guards, says From, who emphasizes that it never felt threatening:

No, no. A young boy. He was not close.

Anna Sandberg tells that the situation came completely unexpectedly.

It came out of nowhere. Smilla (Holmberg) and I were surprised. But that's the kind of thing that happens. Not in women's football maybe, or I have not experienced it. But they caught him quickly, says Sandberg.

Defensive colleague Hanna Lundkvist also describes the moment as unusual but harmless.

It did not seem like he had bad intentions. But lucky that there was security on site. I did not have time to think so much. It's unusual, she says.
