"Of course, an incredibly heavy blow for the first team," the club writes on its website.
The decision means that there is a vacancy in the HockeyAllsvenskan, but that spot will not be filled.
"The Swedish Ice Hockey Association has asked clubs in HockeyAllsvenskan, according to their ranking from the qualifying series for the SHL, about the vacant place in HockeyAllsvenskan, but no club has accepted. Against this background, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's competition committee, in consultation with the SHL, has decided that HockeyAllsvenskan will be played with 19 teams in the 2026/2027 season," the association announced in a press release.
