Two scholarships of 500,000 kronor are awarded, this year at a ceremony in the Marble Foyer at the Dramaten in Stockholm on June 11.
"The increase in the prize amount is an important mark of the support we want to give directors in their continued artistic work", says Nils Spangenberg, chairman of the Falstaff Foundation, and adds that "Sweden has an impressive breadth of talented directors in performing arts and film".
The scholarship was established in 2018 by an anonymous donor. Last year's winners were the theater and opera director Natalie Ringler and the dancer, choreographer, and director Fredrik "Benke" Rydman, who were both awarded 300,000 kronor each.
