"I'm incredibly happy, of course. It feels great to receive the prize for 2024", says Falk to the football association's website.
The motivation reads:
"Jennifer Falk continues to develop year after year, and is an extremely reliable goalkeeper who can handle different situations in a match. After a new strong season in her club team, where she has performed well and consistently, she once again shows that she is a safe last line of defense – at the same time as she possesses a high top level that stands out with really difficult saves."
Viktor Johansson stepped in between the posts in the Nations League and filled the gap after injured Robin Olsson with bravado.
"Very fun. It's been a lucky year in many ways", says Johansson, who gained the trust of the national team just in time for the Nations League premiere against Azerbaijan in September.
"There was so much adrenaline in my body, a lot happened that day. It was a dream come true. Everything clicked, but of course I was also lucky and Isak Hien took a shot. But everything worked out and I enjoyed the evening."
The motivation reads:
"Viktor Johansson has taken the national team opportunity in an excellent way during the year. Played a decisive role and got his blue-yellow breakthrough during the autumn. Paved the way for a successful start in the Nations League with important interventions in the away match against Azerbaijan and has been stable throughout the group stage. A strong spring in the club team Rotherham has been followed up by a fine autumn in Stoke."
