Jens Fahrbring has had a tough season, and has been switching between the European and Challenge tours in golf. But during the Open de España, where, among others, the superstar Jon Rahm participated, the Swede showed really good golf and finished tied for third.
After two days of play, the Swede was still far down on the leaderboard, but good play on Saturday made Fahrbring suddenly mix himself into the top struggle.
And on Sunday, the 40-year-old continued to deliver. At one point, Fahrbring was only one stroke behind the leading Angel Hidalgo, but after bogies on both holes 15 and 16, he lost the top position.
Instead, the Swede had to settle for sharing third place with five other players.
Instead, it became a hot Spanish duel between Hidalgo and Rahm that was decided in a playoff. There, it was finally Angel Hidalgo, who had been leading since the first round, who emerged victorious.
