A minute's silence will be held on Friday, August 28 at 12:00, one week after the attack in which a 17-year-old girl was killed and three boys were injured.

The aim is to show consideration, respect and honour for the victims, their relatives and others affected by the school attack, the municipality says in a press release.

All businesses, workplaces and residents who have the opportunity are welcome to participate.

Later in the evening, the municipality also invites people to a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. in Vilhelminaparken in Fagersta, to mark the tragic event.

Everyone who wants to share a moment of warmth and togetherness is welcome, the municipality says, and the evening's programme consists of speeches and performances.

Emergency services personnel and crisis support will be on site during the evening.
