An 18-year-old man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of attacking several students at Brinell School with a sword on Friday. A 17-year-old girl died and three teenage boys were injured, two of them seriously.

The person suspected of being an accomplice in the crime was not at the scene and has no connection to the school, according to police.

According to information provided to several media outlets, it concerns a boy under the age of 18.

According to Aftonbladet, police suspected early on that another person was involved in the attack in some way. This weekend, police carried out a raid in the Stockholm area and arrested the suspect at his home.

Information provided to TV4 states that the arrested person said he himself wanted to carry out a school attack.

The detention hearing will take place at Västmanland District Court at 3 p.m.
