The classic F1 race on Monaco's narrow streets is, according to many, a must-see, but according to others, a sleeping pill.
For the teams, Saturday's qualifying is sometimes more important than the race itself in the hunt for a good starting position – as overtaking on the track is extremely difficult.
But now, the FIA is changing the rules for this year's visit to the French Riviera.
The drivers are forced to make two mandatory pit stops for tire changes during Sunday's race.
I assume it can go both ways, says Max Verstappen.
It can roll on as it always has, or everything can become totally crazy.
The change is an attempt to prevent a similar situation as in last year's race where a crash on the first lap, which temporarily stopped the race, allowed everyone to make their only mandatory tire change.
Now, the teams may be forced to rethink their strategies thoroughly.
Normally with one stop, if it's done well and everything goes fine, you can drive focused to the end and just avoid the barrier, says Verstappen.
But maybe two stops can create something different, like people taking risks or guessing when it's right to visit the pit lane.
