The Jewish Power party is led by the outspoken leader Itamar Ben-Gvir, who until January this year was the minister responsible for national security.

Jewish Power officially left the ruling coalition in January in protest against the hostage deal with Hamas. The more radical flank of the Israeli government has previously demanded guarantees that the war will be resumed sooner or later.

Now they are re-entering the government after the fighting in Gaza has resumed.
