There is still extensive work to be done within the National Land Survey of Sweden, government investigator Dag Stegeland said at a press conference with Housing Minister Andreas Carlson (KD).

Overall, information security work has stalled and progress has been too slow. Internally, Lantmäteriet needs a better structure for information security work and training, and skills development throughout the organization, including at management level, says Stegeland.

The investigator proposes, among other things, that a cyber and information security council be formed with representatives of actors whose activities are critical to society.

The former director-general, Susanne Ås Sivborg, was fired at the end of 2024 after it was revealed that secret information had been left open in Lantmäteriet's archives and that customer service had released documents without confidentiality review.
