The water leak occurred at 7 a.m. on one of Norrvatten's main pipes and large parts of the municipality's 30,000 residents have been affected.
Staff have isolated the leak and rerouted the water so that everyone will once again have water in their taps, the municipality says on its website. The pressure may be lower this morning but should increase within the next few hours.
The water may be discolored when it returns after a leak. This is usually caused by rust from the pipe network and is harmless, the municipality says.
