Bolivia's former President Luis Arce has been arrested on suspicion of corruption crimes he is accused of having committed when he was Minister of Economy, the government says.
Arce is accused of authorizing the transfer of public funds to the personal accounts of political leaders while he was economy minister under then-President Evo Morales, who held the post between 2006 and 2019.
Arce did not run for re-election as president in August 2025.
