On Friday, a 48-year-old man, who is still at large, was named as a suspect in several of the sabotage attacks, which were apparently aimed at cutting off power supplies to coal-fired power plants. In letters sent to authorities and the media, the author cited the fight against fossil fuels as a motive for the sabotage.
The new finds on Saturday were made at substations in Bärwalde and Graustein in the state of Saxony. According to local authorities, they are 12 homemade explosive devices.
The police say they are investigating whether there is a connection to the previous incidents at substations around Germany.
