In recent days, the country has repeatedly been the target of attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi movement in neighboring Yemen.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has responded with several attacks on Yemen. As late as Friday evening, the Houthi movement said that Saudi Arabia had carried out 26 airstrikes in one day, and that the number of Saudi attacks amounted to 300 in the past week.
The previous full-scale war between the Houthi movement and forces backed by Saudi Arabia from 2014 to 2022 claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
