An explosion has occurred outside a multi-family house in Linné in Gothenburg during the night towards Friday, reports GP.

There has been a detonation. What I can say now is that it has not been a major blast, but shrapnel has hit windows, says Johan Ljung, duty officer at the police in region Väst to the newspaper.

The alarm came to the police just after 02 and the area was cordoned off for a technical investigation. By 06 on Friday, the cordons had been lifted. The National Bomb Protection was also on the scene.

Everything suggests that it is a hand grenade, says Johan Ljung according to GP.

According to Ljung, no other potentially hazardous object has been found in the area and no people have been reported injured.

The incident is being investigated as general endangerment and serious crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods.
