A hand grenade exploded in a stairwell at Rosengård in Malmö on Friday evening. Another undetonated hand grenade was detonated by the police's bomb technicians.

The incident is being investigated as gross general devastation, but no one has been arrested. The police cannot comment on whether there is a threat against anyone at the address.

It's the kind of thing you look at, potential threat images, says the police's press spokesperson Evelina Olsson.

According to the police, it was likely a hand grenade that exploded.

Remains have been found that appear to come from a hand grenade, said the police's press spokesperson Leif Fransson during the night.

An undetonated hand grenade was found in the vicinity and was neutralized during the night by the police's technicians. No one was injured in the incident.

The alarm about the explosion came at 20 o'clock on Friday. According to the police, there are several witnesses who heard the bang and also saw people running from the scene.

On Thursday, the police stopped two boys under 15 years old armed with hand grenades in Rosengård in Malmö.

It was the day before that they were stopped. Whether there is any connection between these two incidents is something that will be looked at in the investigations, says Evelina Olsson.
