Explosion Rocks Malmö's Rosengård District, No Injuries Reported

Something has exploded in the district of Rosengård in Malmö. Both police and private individuals heard the bang that occurred late on Tuesday evening.

We received a call at 23 o'clock that people had heard a large bang out in Rosengård, which police personnel also heard, says Jerker Olsson, duty officer at the police.

The police could later confirm that the explosion occurred at a gate in an inner courtyard. No injured person has been found so far.

We have found shrapnel damage on a couple of facades, also a glass section at a gate to a stairwell has been shattered, says Jerker Olsson.

The National Bomb Protection was called to the scene at 00.30.

The police classify the incident as gross general public endangerment and a crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods.

No person was arrested on Wednesday morning.
