An explosion took place outside a gate to an apartment building in Gamlestaden in Gothenburg on Sunday evening.
No one is reported to have been injured, but the explosion has caused damage to parts of the facade.
We received several calls at 23.36 about a loud bang, and when we arrived at the scene, we could immediately establish that something had detonated outside a gate, says August Brandt, press spokesperson at Police Region West.
During the night, the area was cordoned off and the police are searching with, among other things, a helicopter for one or more perpetrators.
We have had the national bomb squad on site, and right now, a hunt is underway for one or more perpetrators. Unfortunately, I cannot say if we have any suspects, but there are many who have witnessed the event in one way or another, says August Brandt.
The incident is being investigated as reckless endangerment.
