The Syrian capital Damascus was shaken on Thursday by a powerful explosion caused by an explosive device, Syrian state television reports.
The explosion occurred in a cafe near the Palace of Justice in Damascus, the seat of the Syrian judiciary, several local media reports.
Another 20 people have been injured, according to the Syrian Health Ministry.
The Ministry of Interior says in a statement to Al Jazeera that the incident is being investigated.
