A loud bang was heard in the Syrian capital, Syrian state television reported earlier, later stating that the explosion was caused by a bomb.
According to Dubai-based al-Arabiya, the explosion took place in a cafe near the Palace of Justice in Damascus, the seat of the Syrian judiciary.
At least 15 people have been injured, al-Arabiya writes, citing sources.
