An explosion has occurred in Bagarmossen in southern Stockholm during the morning. Two wanted individuals have been arrested.

We have an ongoing operation where we are pursuing one or more suspected perpetrators. We are getting a better and better picture of what may have exploded at the scene, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.

Several people alerted the police to a loud bang just before 9 am. According to Wikdahl, something has exploded and damaged a window or a balcony door on an apartment building.

Shortly after the alarm, the police were able to apprehend two people in the area, who were already wanted in another case.

We suspect that these individuals are involved in this.

In connection with the incident, the police investigated another suspected hazardous object in the nearby area, which turned out to be harmless.

The explosion is being investigated as aggravated general endangerment and a violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods. As recently as last night, an explosion occurred in nearby Kärrtorp. The police do not want to comment on any connection at this time.

It's too early to answer that, right now we're focusing on this operation.

The explosion in Bagarmossen is the 30th in the country since the turn of the year.
