Police were alerted during the night to an apartment building in Mellerud municipality after something exploded in the stairwell, the police write on their website.
The explosion has caused some material damage, but there is no information that anyone has been injured. Several apartments in the house were evacuated during the operation.
No one has been arrested and the incident is being investigated as reckless destruction and a crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods.
