The alarm about the explosion in Vänersborg came at 00:20, which Ttela first reported. The explosion occurred near a house in the central part of the city.
"There are no reports of injuries. We are currently working to secure a safe location," Martin Hallberg, duty officer for the police in Region West, told TT.
Half an hour later, a new alarm came, this time in Uddevalla, about 20–30 minutes away.
"It's the same information we have there," says Martin Hallberg.
At 02:00, a VMA was issued regarding suspected dangerous objects in both cities; however, this applies to the locations where explosions have already occurred.
"Yes, we don't know what else is there," says Martin Hallberg.
The locations are cordoned off and residents in the areas are urged to stay inside and away from windows.
