The police were alerted just before 22:00 on Wednesday after several people called and reported loud bangs in the area.
It's something that has exploded near residential buildings in a neighborhood with villas and row houses. This has, among other things, resulted in window panes shattering, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the police, to TT.
The incident is being investigated as reckless endangerment and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods. There is no information that anyone has been physically injured in the explosion.
It's cordoned off and a technical investigation will be conducted. We will knock on doors and hold interviews, says Per Fahlström.
The national bomb squad has been called in to examine the cordoned-off area, writes the police on their website.
The police are searching for one or more perpetrators. No one has been detained.
