After the latest, in Limhamn night to Monday, two men have been detained.
We have had a number of violent incidents here in the last month and our assessment is that they belong to the criminal environments and the conflicts that are ongoing there, says Erik Åberg, local police chief in Hyllie.
The conflicts usually concern money, narcotics, power relationships and in some cases personal conflicts, he notes.
We believe that we see a connection between some of the events, but I cannot go into which ones, says Erik Åberg.
Camera surveillance contributed
A caller raised the alarm about a loud bang in Limhamn around 01.40. An apartment has been damaged, but no one has been physically injured.
The suspected men, who are in their 30s, were arrested shortly after the incident.
We have camera surveillance in several places that are helpful to us when such situations arise, it has been part of the evidence.
The men are suspected of gross general endangerment.
Comes in waves
Erik Åberg does not think that the conflict level in the criminal world in Malmö can be described as unusually high right now.
Looking from a longer perspective, it does not deviate. These events have a tendency to come and go in different waves.
Compared to 2018–2019, the situation in Malmö is better, he emphasizes.
