He was handed over to a police patrol that arrived at the scene, said police spokesperson Helene Ramsmo.
Police have cordoned off the area and the national bomb squad was called but left the scene shortly before midnight. The man, who was previously known to police, is now being questioned.
The villa has suffered material damage and there are no reports of anyone being injured.
"It is currently assessed as a public danger. We will remain until Tuesday morning and speak to witnesses and secure clues at the scene," says Magnus Schildt, duty officer with the police.
