An explosion occurred on Monday evening at a multi-family house in Hägernäs in Täby in northern Stockholm.
Alarms about loud bangs came in at 23.29 and when the patrol arrived at the scene, it was discovered that some form of explosive charge had detonated in an external basement staircase.
It was a concrete-cast basement staircase, so a blast damage has been formed and a window has been shattered. We have a large ongoing police operation in the area and are mapping out who the charge may have been directed at, says Ola Österling.
The police have cordoned off the area and initiated a criminal investigation into reckless endangerment and serious crimes related to flammable and explosive goods.
