The entrance door to the house has suffered extensive damage from something that was placed next to it and then detonated, according to the police.
We received an alarm at 4:10 am about the incident, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson for the police.
No one is believed to have been injured, despite people being at home in the house at the time of the explosion. The distance to other houses in the area is not great. Bomb technicians are on site to investigate what exploded and forensic technicians will conduct a crime scene investigation.
The whole thing is being classified as gross reckless endangerment, says Österling.
A large operation is underway in the area, which is located in Botkyrka municipality, and identity checks are being carried out throughout the southern part of the Stockholm area. The site is cordoned off and perpetrators are being pursued, including with the help of police dogs.
The police have gone door-to-door in the area and held several interviews with people who have information to provide to the investigation.
