Police, ambulance and rescue services are on site, but no spokesperson wants to comment on whether anyone is seriously injured, instead referring to the Armed Forces.
"I can confirm that five people are injured and have been taken to hospital. They are not conscripts, but five employees," says Mikael Ågren, duty communications officer at the Armed Forces, to TT.
Police confirm that the incident is being investigated as a workplace accident.
The Life Regiment Hussars, K3, is the regiment stationed at Karlsborg Fortress.
