The event that occurred on Saturday morning is being investigated as a suspected car bomb. The mayor of the city confirms that a bomb was behind the explosion.
The US Justice Minister Pam Bondi writes in a post on X just before midnight that the government "is well aware that women and mothers make up the heart of the USA", and continues:
"Violence against a fertility clinic is unforgivable".
The fertility clinic's management states that no staff members were injured and that no patients were at the clinic when the explosion occurred.
The explosion damaged the clinic's office premises, where consultations with patients take place, but the IVF laboratory and the stored embryos are said to have escaped without damage.
