The alarm about the explosion in Bro, northwest of Stockholm, came shortly after 02 am on Monday morning.
Either someone has thrown in an explosive charge or placed it just outside or possibly on the windowsill of a bedroom window on the lower floor. The bedroom window has suffered extensive damage and the bedroom has naturally been damaged as well, said Ola Österling, police press spokesperson, during the night.
A man was sleeping in the bedroom when the explosion occurred. He suffered minor injuries and was treated by an ambulance on the spot.
Two more people, including a child, were in the apartment, according to the rescue services. None of them were physically injured.
Foxtrot Connection
Three men, who are being investigated for serious gang-related crimes, are registered at the same address. All three have posed in pictures with fox rings, which, according to the police, are worn by people in Foxtrot network leader Rawa Majid's inner circle.
According to Aftonbladet, this is the third time since January 2023 that the address has been targeted by explosions.
A comprehensive search effort for one or more perpetrators was underway during the night towards Monday. At 05 am, the police announced that a young man had been arrested.
We received witness statements that we could follow up on and work with for several hours, which led to the arrest of this young person in another municipality, says Österling.
The man, who is in his teens, was arrested during the morning, suspected of attempted murder and reckless endangerment.
Now he will be assigned a defense attorney and questioned. Our assessment is that it was him who did it.
Record Number of Incidents
The police bomb technicians have examined the site during the night. At the same time, they have collected witness statements and emptied surveillance cameras.
Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (The Moderate Party) stated at a press conference on Friday that there had been 24 explosions in Sweden in January so far. Since then, there have been three more.
According to the police's monthly statistics on explosions, the previous record was 22 incidents in one month.
