Both P4 Kalmar and Vimmerby Tidning report during the early Saturday evening that the situation in Hultsfred is under control.

Absolutely. We will start to withdraw resources here pretty soon, says rescue chief Joakim Jansson to VT.

They do not believe that there is any risk of further explosions or fires for the time being.

But since it's a huge pipe system at a complex facility, you can never say never. If there's something smoldering inside a pipe, it can take time before it shows, but we don't see any such tendencies now, anyway, says Joakim Jansson.

A mill exploded at Ikea Industry during lunchtime, which led to a fire that spread up into a silo. The operation was extensive. According to Vimmerby Tidning, there were around 50 people on site from both Hultsfred and Vimmerby.

At 14.45, Ulf Bowein, incident commander at the rescue service, told TT that they "had a pretty good effect" of the firefighting efforts. The open flames had then been able to be put out by the firefighters.

No human has been injured, and the staff evacuated the premises.

The company is owned by the parent company Ikea and is involved in the manufacture of, among other things, veneers and wood-based panels.
