"You could say that there is good cooperation between witnesses and the police. We get a pretty good description and then we can follow him via our cameras and make this intervention," says Sara Andersson, press spokesperson for Malmö Police.
The boy was taken into care a short distance away, in Fosie. He will be handed over to social services.
The alarm about the incident came in at 11:57 p.m. on Thursday. No one was injured and no fire broke out after the explosion. However, the building's entrance and a number of windows were damaged.
It is not clear who is the instigator of the crime.
