"The accusations made against me are baseless," the 86-year-old said in a statement to AFP.
Together with his daughter Caroline Lang, the former minister of culture and education is being investigated for money laundering of proceeds from gross tax fraud linked to the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
He said he will approach the investigation with "calm and even relief" as it will "shed light on the allegations that question my integrity and honor."
Lang served in government several times during the 1980s and 1990s, as well as in the early 2000s, for the country's Social Democratic Party.
