More than 60 works by Henri Matisse have been donated to the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris. Most of the artworks - paintings, drawings, lithographs and a sculpture - depict the artist's daughter Marguerite. The art has been in the family's possession, reports The Guardian.
The museum describes the extensive donation as “exceptional and historic.” The donor is Barbara Dauphin Duthuit, wife of Matisse’s grandson Claude, who died in New York in 2011.
