Excavation journalist Tomas Bresky is dead

Journalist and author Tomas Bresky has died, reports NSD. Bresky was the editor of "Norra magasinet" and made several notable documentaries about the Palme assassination.

According to the local newspaper, Tomas Bresky passed away on Monday after a period of illness.

Bresky was born in Värmland and grew up in Gothenburg. In the late 1960s he graduated in political science and sociology. He later got a job at Sveriges Radio's Ekot and was also a foreign correspondent in Washington for the radio.

In the late 1970s he moved to Luleå. There he worked at Nordnytt and also started the newspaper Folkviljan in Norrbotten.

Bresky was the author of books such as "Codename: Mikael: The Enbom Spy Case and the Cold War" (2008) and "The Book of Abed - Nine Years' Fight Against Migration Bureaucracy" (2020).

Together with Lars Borgnäs, Bresky made the television program "Norra magasinet", which several times covered the Palme murder investigation. The program laid the foundation for SVT's "Uppdrag granskning" where Bresky also worked for many years as an investigative reporter.

Tomas Bresky turned 81 years old.
