Several people witnessed the woman, who was in her 50s, being seriously injured at an address in Karlskrona. She later died from the stab wounds. The now convicted man, who had previously had a relationship with the woman and had a restraining order against her at the time of the crime, was arrested.
"Parts of the incident are also on film," prosecutor Anna Johansson Toresten stated before the verdict was handed down.
In addition to murder, the 38-year-old man was convicted of violating a restraining order against the woman and making a serious unlawful threat against a person who tried to interrupt the incident.
He will remain in custody until the life sentence is carried out.
