In Elia Kazan’s 1954 classic, Eva Marie Saint plays Edie, who falls in love with Terry, a former boxer played by Marlon Brando. Both actors won Oscars for their performances.
Other major roles in the 1950s included appearances opposite Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller “North by Northwest” and in “Exodus,” a drama about the creation of the state of Israel.
Later in her career, Eva Marie Saint had several notable television roles, including in the 1970s Western classic “The Macahans” and the 1980s detective series “Couples in Crime.”
