The government has appointed Eva Bergquist as the new Director General of the Swedish Council for the Arts. She succeeds Kajsa Ravin and will take office on 1 August.
Eva Bergquist is currently Director of Culture at the Stockholm Region's Cultural Administration and has, among other things, investigated Swedish film policy.
The Arts Council's task is, among other things, to distribute government funding to the cultural sector.
