The EU's Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas is visiting Israel and parts of the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to her office.
According to a statement, Kallas sees the visit as an opportunity to discuss the importance of unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza and to urge the parties to immediately resume the ceasefire agreement and release of hostages.
In Israel, Kaja Kallas will meet, among others, President Isaac Herzog, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, and opposition leader Yair Lapid – but not Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On the West Bank, meetings are scheduled with, among others, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
