What were the weather conditions in the English Channel on D-Day in 1944? And how strong were the winds when Storm Gudrun swept across Scandinavia? With the help of the Weather Replay service, users can see what the weather was like, down to the hourly level, from 1940 up to a few days ago.

The visualization is based on extensive weather data and can show precipitation, temperature, and wind speed, among other things. Some notable weather events, such as major storms and heat waves, are available as quick selections.

The free service can be accessed at weather-replay.climate.copernicus.eu.
