The Purchasing Managers' Index for industry rose in the euro zone in August. The index stands at 50.7, which is slightly higher than the preliminary figure of 50.5. In July, the index was 49.8. The August figure is the highest since June 2022.
In Germany, the index stood at 49.8, slightly lower than the preliminary figure of 49.9, but up from 49.1 in July.
An index of over 50 indicates increased activity in the sector.
