The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced the rules for the 2027 contest in Bulgaria.
A winning country may lose the right to host the competition if security is affected by an armed conflict, a sensitive geopolitical situation or other circumstances, SVT writes.
After an independent security assessment, the EBU may in that case appoint another member as host.
The age limit for artists is being raised from 16 to 18 years, no later than the day of the first rehearsal, to reduce pressure on young artists.
The EBU has also clarified its rules on pre-recorded vocals. Lead singers must sing the melody live, but backing tracks may be used under certain circumstances.
