158 people have been arrested, suspected of human trafficking, in a large-scale, global police operation, writes the European police cooperation Europol in a press release.
1,194 potential victims from mainly Romania, Ukraine, Colombia, China and Hungary have been rescued, writes Europol.
The operation, called Global chain, involved 15,000 police officers from 43 different countries focused on human trafficking for sexual exploitation, forced crime and forced begging.
In addition to the arrests, seizures were also made of, among other things, narcotics, weapons and cash.
