“Orbán was the only leader with stakes in the EU... A sad day,” writes Dutch Geert Wilders on X about the election results. His party, the PVV, is part of the same European party family as Orbán’s Fidesz, as are, among others, the French National Rally, the Belgian Vlaams Belang and the Spanish Vox.

Their comments after the election loss are bitter.

“Hungary was the only country in Europe that was safe from Islamic invasion,” claims Vox leader Santiago Abascal.

"I'm afraid that the Hungarians are losing their independence today," says Tom Van Grieken of Vlaams Belang.

“The satisfaction expressed by the European Commission, which has never stopped exceeding its powers to the detriment of the power of the people, should worry Hungarians,” believes Marine Le Pen.
