Unacceptable, says Tomas Tobé (M) about the budget line that a majority in the EU Parliament voted through on Tuesday, with 370 yes votes to 201 no.

The rest of M also voted no, as did KD, S, SD, and V. C abstained from the vote, while L and MP were the only Swedes who voted yes.

If we are to be able to resist Putin's war machine, we must strengthen both our societies and our military capabilities, says Alice Bah Kuhnke (MP).

Regardless of what the EU Parliament thinks, however, the main power over the budget lies with the EU member states, which are generally significantly more restrictive.

A final decision on the long-term budget for the years 2028-34 is not expected until the turn of the year at the earliest.
