Germany, France, Finland and EU have summoned their respective Russian ambassadors. This due to the Russian violation of Polish airspace earlier in the week.

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot calls the incident "completely unacceptable", according to French media.

On Thursday, it became known that, among others, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Spain had done the same thing.

"Sweden gives its full support to Poland, as a NATO ally and EU member. The Russian violations are unacceptable and constitute a threat to Europe's security", said Sweden's Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in a statement.

Poland's airspace was violated by Russian drones during the night to Wednesday. The incident occurred just before 04:00 and the drones were shot down by Polish and allied fighter planes. Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk then invoked NATO's Article 4, which states that the defense alliance's members should consult urgently when a member country feels threatened.
