"Game schedules for upcoming European Championships will be adjusted to reduce the burden on players and create the best possible balance between rest and travel days for all participating teams," the EHF wrote in a statement.
The latest in a row to criticize the game schedule was Croatia's national team captain Dagur Sigurdsson.
"Anyone who knows anything about sports knows that two more days of recovery in a 12-day period are a hell of a lot. We played games six and seven in 22 hours. Then they put us on the bus the next morning like frozen chickens to drive us here," he said earlier this week.
Croatia will face Germany in Herning, Denmark, later this evening. Denmark will face Iceland in the other semi-final.
